The Solar Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (SOPPAN) attended the 30th Annual Day of the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) today, where the association was presented with a letter of appreciation for its contribution to flood relief efforts. The Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Mr. Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, handed the letter of appreciation to SOPPAN President Dr. Sandip Shah in recognition of SOPPAN’s donation of 1,000 solar LED lights to AEPC for communities affected by the Bhotekoshi floods.
SOPPAN formally handed over the solar LED lights to AEPC on September 10, 2026, to meet the immediate lighting needs of families and communities where electricity supply and access to essential services had been disrupted. Portable solar lighting gives affected households a safe, grid-independent source of light during relief and recovery.

SOPPAN extended its congratulations to AEPC on completing 30 years of service and reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with AEPC, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, the Nepal Electricity Authority and other stakeholders on clean energy access, disaster-resilient energy solutions and the national renewable energy transition.
