Yokohama India has strengthened its local manufacturing capabilities by commencing the production of 20-inch tires at its advanced facility in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. This strategic move comes in response to the growing demand for larger-inch tires, fueled by the rising popularity of SUVs and an expanding premium vehicle segment in India.
Among the latest offerings in this category is the Geolandar X-CV (G057), a high-performance tire designed specifically for luxury SUVs. Engineered with an asymmetric tread pattern, advanced silica compounds, and a robust 2-ply sidewall, the X-CV delivers superior grip, enhanced durability, and a smooth driving experience. The premium tire is now available through Yokohama India’s extensive network of over 3,000 retailers nationwide.
This expansion follows Yokohama India’s recent localization of 19-inch tire production, reinforcing its commitment to providing world-class products tailored to Indian motorists. The company remains focused on adapting to market trends and fostering a culture of automotive excellence by developing innovative mobility solutions.
“With improving road infrastructure and advancements in vehicle geometry, passenger vehicles are increasingly opting for larger-inch tires,” said Gaurav Mahajan, Head of Marketing at Yokohama India. “Higher-inch tires not only enhance handling and safety but also accommodate advanced braking systems. By expanding our local production capabilities, we are future-proofing our offerings—now with the capability to manufacture up to 24-inch tires—ensuring that we continue to serve the premium segment with cutting-edge, high-performance products.”
