Himalaya Jet, a leading aviation company, has announced a significant commitment to sponsor the two largest annual events of the Nepali diaspora in the UK, the Gurkha Cup and Nepali Mela, organized by Tamu Dhee UK in collaboration with the Embassy of Nepal. The sponsorship, extending for 10 years and beyond, also includes support for various charities aiding Nepali communities abroad, as part of Himalaya Jet’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The announcement was celebrated with a traditional Piper ceremony, where the executive team of Tamu Dhee UK, including Trustees and Advisors, warmly welcomed the Himalaya Jet delegation. Mr. Jumkaji Gurung, Chairman of Tamu Dhee UK, expressed profound gratitude, describing the sponsorship as “the biggest game-changing project in the history of Nepal and the Nepali people.”
The felicitation ceremony featured a champagne toast honoring Mr. Dipendra Gurung MIoD, Owner and President of Himalaya Jet, alongside toasts to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom and the President of Nepal.
